About Us

Anaviv founder Arnon Oren’s idyllic childhood in Galilee, surrounded by olive trees and wild honey, and his classical training in France, instilled in him an appreciation for the purity of fresh ingredients combined with refined cooking. After years at iconic Bay Area restaurants, including Chez Panisse and Oliveto Cafe & Restaurant, Oren struck out on his own in 2006 with his first catering business, Oren’s Kitchen.

The delicious, healthy meals from Oren’s Kitchen soon gained a following, especially among corporate clients including 23andMe. In 2014, Oren invested in a new space in Richmond, and in 2016, he founded Anaviv Catering & Events to focus on premium catering services.

The new kitchen space gave Anaviv the flexibility to host smaller gatherings on site in a formal dining room or outdoor pavilion, and in 2018, Anaviv’s Table, a private fine dining experience with a tailored menu and chef’s table experience, was born.

Whether it’s a grand event or an intimate dinner, the Anaviv experience is centered on cooking to the season with locally sourced ingredients. Our chefs are passionate and creative about their cooking, and we believe you can see and taste the difference in our food.
